7 Summits x 70
Eva Steinwald
About Eva
Eva Steinwald was born and raised in Germany by Czech parents. At 19, she moved to the United States and married her husband ten years later. After 26 wonderful years together, her husband Patrick passed away unexpectedly—a loss that sparked something deep within her. Faced with profound grief, Eva made a choice: to fully embrace life and its fleeting, precious nature.
What began as hikes up smaller mountains slowly transformed into something much bigger. Her grief turned into grit, and a new purpose began to take shape.
Today, Eva is on a mission: to complete the Seven Summits by the age of 70 and raise awareness about climate change through her project, 7 Summits x 70. Since setting that bold intention, she has summited Aconcagua and Denali in 2024, and in 2025, at age 63, she stood on the roof of the world—Mount Everest.
But for Eva, this journey isn't just about reaching the highest points on Earth. It's about how she climbs—with humility, presence, and fearless vulnerability. Her story is a reminder that from great loss can rise great purpose—and that it’s never too late to start something extraordinary.
